The 5th Summit has officially started here in Port of Spain - and they are not happy campers! It seems Argentina still nurses a grudge over 1982, and the Nicaraguan Pres did not like the idea that he (and a few others) had to sit and wait about 3 hours in their plane to await the disembakation of Pres Obama -who apparently arrived early - suspect more fireworks to come:fencing:

It will be interesting to see whether there are any more developments from Obama's statement that America would consider talks with Cuba. It will also be interesting to see whether he is more amenable to South American left-wing leaders than his predecessor.

I think there will be some headway with Fidel's little brother Raul if not only to be re-admitted to the OAS.

Considering the degrading infrastructure in Cuba, this could be the perfect opportunity for the US to help rebuild the country.
