Few Germans acknowledge their role in space race

    Germans shun space race legacy - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

    I would have thought unveiling a launch ramp might have attracted Mosquitos...sorry, couldn't help it. It is where the race for the moon did start though. Amazing, when you think about it.

    I can well understand how ambiguous the Germans must feel about celebrating anything linked to the Nazis. The real irony is that the Americans and Soviets had no qualms about using these men for their own use, and almost rewriting their pasts to eradicate the stigma of being Nazis.

    Yes, all to get the use of their brains. How quickly some "forget".
