Can anyone help fill in any birth / death details for this international rugby player.
Edward O'Donovan Crean toured with the 1910 British & Irish Lions in South Africa. He was never capped, but played four games on that tour.
Born in Liverpool in 1887, he went to Ampleforth College. Played for Liverpool and went on the 1910 Lions tour of South Africa. Uncapped and never played for England. His parents were born in Liverpool, but all his grandparents were Irish. In the First World War Crean joined the Royal Naval Air Service, which by the end of the war had merged with the Royal Flying Corps to become the Royal Air Force. By the end of the war he had risen to the rank of captain, and was elected to the Royal Aero Club of the UK on June 19 1919.
