It's strange that history doesn't say much about General George Armstrong Custer being at Gettysburg during the battle. I mean like who knew?! But true... his troops were at Cavalry Field fighting and falling just like the soldiers "in town" and closer to Gettysburg were doing. I've always wondered why we never hear more about him being there. Maybe because the cavalry battle was July 3rd... same day as the Pickett-Pettigrew-Trimble charge? Any thoughts?
