As we have a new member (Bobert) who worked in Bristol during part of the war, I'm sure he has many memories of the Bristol Blitz(s).

Two sites that are excellent are:

Bristol Past : Fishponds Local History Society
(this is one of the best WW2 local history websites I've ever seen)

    Some good pictures:
    1940 - 1960

My Grandmother worked in a munitions factory in Hotwell, she walked to work from Westbury Park each morning.
The morning after the heavy raid when Park Street was hit hard, she remembered the gutters down Jacobs Wells being a burning river of sugar. She also remembered seeiing Bristol burn, she was watching from the Downs.
She had fascinating stories, i use to enjoy hearing them when i was younger, really wish i had a better memory or had written them down.
