My grandfather William Riley was deemed not fit enough for active service and enlisted in the "Territorials". According to my Uncle he was "in charge of musket training"? in Blackpool where my grandmother ran a boarding house and at the start of the war my grandmother had 10 soldiers to stay who went on to France, and only one returned. I was wondering if anyone has any information about what went on in Blackpool at this time as once again the service records are destroyed.
