I actually think the balloons would look quite majestic in the early morning air over Canberra but it does reveal some skewed organisation given its timing.

I think it would be a good idea to perform! I never heard of ANZAC before, sorry one of the reasons I joined this site-to learn more. Looked ANZAC up on the web and learned more. I have seen Gallipoli (the movie), was it based on this battle? Sorry for being so not with it...trying though, lol. Usually a little more into the technology and weapons of WW2

P-51, yes, Gallipoli the movie was centred around the landings/campaign that established the ANZAC "tradition".

As you will have picked up here, we are more focussed on the events and the people but that's not to say the equipment is ignored. It's often where the interest has started and then developed/evolved. For me, it started with the aircraft of the Battle of Britain.

You've probably found these websites already but if you haven't, these might help with understanding and learning about ANZAC more. Visiting Gallipoli is also considered a pilgramage for all Aussies and Kiwis these days and I'm pleased to say my wife and I managed this in September 2005 while on honeymoon!
