Can anyone please confirm the 2nd Bn Queens were garrisoned in the city for the whole of the siege? I'm trying to trace Captain Sidney George Armstrong of 2nd Bn Queens (formerly RAMC) who died as per CWGC (KIA as per local newspaper obit) 7 December 1941.

Would this be in Tobruk prior to the final lifting of the siege? Or outside of Tobruk during Operation Crusader?

Any help appreciated. Also is there a British Rats of Tobruk Association? Most appear to be ANZAC.

    Clive.

The 2nd Queen's was part of the 16th Infantry Brigade, which became part of the Tobruk Garrison. It was involved in the Tobruk Sortie, the initial attack out of Tobruk in Novemeber, and part of Crusader, and then the subsequent fighting out from Tobruk
