I refer to your comment on the Caribbean Aircrew website and thought I should write to you directly.

My wife's father was a first cousin to Donald Beausire Barnard. I checked with his immediate family and they have no recollection of Donald having a "temper". His nephew went so far as to contact some of his old crew and they likewise refute the suggestion. I am advised by the family that the court martial arose over the un-authorsied flight of an aircraft. It is believed this was made in the far East in an attempt to rescue a group of British pow's, an operation that his superiors were not prepared to sanction.
Would you use your sources to investigate a bit further and clarify the situation.
