I am a US Army Veteran. I signed up with the USAR for a 6 year commitment. I was a Military Policeman, my training was at Ft. Gordon, Ga. After my training I was assigned to Ft MacArthur in San Pedro, California. In May of 1968 I received orders to proceed to Ft. Hood, Texas. I was attached to the 1st Armed Division and assigned to the 501st MP Company. The reasoning behind the aforementioned was twofold. Firstly, there was the Pubelo Crisis off the coast of North Korea and secondly there was the Tet Offensive in South Vietnam.
