80th Anniversary of Pilot's Death.

    Pilot Officer Cecil Hight of New Zealand, was a Spitfire Pilot serving with No 234 Squadron Royal Air Force. On 15th August 1940, his was one of 20 RAF fighters (from 3 Squadrons) that intercepted a Luftwaffe force of 40 JU87 dive bombers, escorted by 60 Me 109 and 25 ME110 fighters over the south coast of England. He was shot down and killed over Bournemouth during this action. on the 15th August 2020, 80 years to the day, the Royal Air Forces Association and the Royal Tank Regiment Association came together to honour him at his grave in Bournemouth.
