Rebel Yell: The Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson?

Has anyone read the new(ish) biography of Stonewall entitled Rebel Yell: The Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson? It was written by S. C. Gwynne and published by Scribner. I recently saw a favorable review of the text, so thought I'd toss it out there.

Stonewall is, possibly, the most fascinating of Civil War personalities for me, so that is why I ask.

    Thanks much. :)

I have not read the "biography" about Stonewell Jackson, Rebel Yell:
The Violence, Passion, and Redemption of Stonewall Jackson,
I am certain it is a good read; although, I would treat it more like historical fiction vs a biography. I think, writers can get biased, even when they present primary sources, tales can still be spun.

I will give you an example, I did a ten page persuasive argument on why Stonewell Jackson should be taken off the twenty dollar bill before this was even in the works to happen. I wrote the paper not because I thought he should actually be taken off, but I like history and it seemed like an easy subject to tackle and not a waste of my time to research the subject matter.

The most ironic issue about Jackson being on paper dollars (which I did not even mention) was that he probably would not have even wanted to be on the twenty dollar bill. If anyone is interested, I would be more then happy to continue this discussion especially in terms of his military campaigns. Or perhaps, someone has read the book? The reviews are certainly a good read.

I'll have to look this book up when I visit the library later this week. I'm sure it's a good read as I am always interested in this time in our history. Maybe it can even give me more of an insight of the writing that I am doing right now for my historical fiction novel.

Ummmm... with all due respect, Stonewall Jackson is not on the $20 bill... he's Thomas born in 1824. Andrew Jackson, who appears on the money, was born in the 1760s and was President of the United States for two terms.

They were not related. So... I'm curious... how did that paper do for you? Did your instructor point this out during the grading process? I'm just not understanding where you did research if this vital fact never came to your attention previously. Inquiring minds, ya know.
