Hi everyone! New to this website but I thought someone might be able to help! A friend of mine purchased a 1907 gaff cutter called "star" although he bought it in Italy he traced its origins to the Isle of Wight. He has spent tons of time doing it up and is super pleased with it. So much so that he is trying to write a book about Star. He has found very little information other that it was built in 1907 by Edward Wade of wade's boat yard in bembridge. He is trying to find out more about the Wade family and their yard (can't seem to find out what happened to it as it's no longer there) and whilst researching we discovered that Star served the cadets at Osborne house till its closure in 1921 (I think !). SO.. I was wondering if anyone knows where we can find a list of boats that served the college or their origins. Or really any info at all about the Wade family their yard and our beloved Star!!!
Hope someone can point me in the right direction!
