Did You Serve with Skip (Madison) Strohlein?

Madison Strohlein (Skip) was lost in Vietnam nearly 43 ago (June 22, 1971). He was 23 (just barely) at the time and remains MIA to this day. US Army, E5. (USARV, TAG, Task Force 1 Advisory Element.)

Madison remains MIA to this day. He was on a reconnaissance mission that June day and had radioed for medical evac a few hours after parachuting.

Anyhow, I know it's a long shot (impossibly long) but thought I'd put it out there to see if any forum vets from Vietnam are familiar with the name.

Hi Kate. Sorry to say I didnt. He was a couple of years after my time. That being said, I too know of an MIA and my old unit and myself have been waiting along time for some word. Please, keep the chin up and do know that nothing is impossible. We'll never forget!

Thank you for replying, @preacherbob50 . It's very hard to accept that someone can just disappear for so many years without any kind of word, but I know nothing is impossible... absolutely.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to face the same thing with someone from your unit. I worked with Gunny Fallon and Operation Just Cause and that's how I was connected to Skip. I don't know if the organization still exists, but I know there are people always waiting for some kind of word... or the buzzword of the day, "closure." Sometimes that word is overused but other times it's exactly the word that fits.
