I was fortunate enough to be given a copy of my grandfather's diary for his time as a POW in the First World War. Grandfather Kennedy attested in Canada and served with the PPCLI (Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry). He was wounded at Ypres, after which he attended Officers' School in the UK and re-attested with the Royal Irish Rifles (the family was still in Belfast).

    Hi Richard,
My great uncle Frank Vans Agnew was in Karlsruhe for a few months in early 1917; I have a few photos from then, if you are interested. (there's no mention of your grandfather in the diary, I'm afraid).
    Regards,
    Jamie.

Thanks for the notice about the book - are you the editor? I will watch for a notice - maybe we can pre-purchase?

I noticed that the link to my grandfathers war diary is not correct - probably from when I started rebuilding the Laughton site. I have not finished that work so let me put a few links here that are directed to the PRISONER OF WAR files:

    MILITARY on Laughton.ca

    GREAT WAR 1914-1921 on Laughton.ca/military

PRISONER Jack Kennedy PPCLI 51288 on Laughton.ca/military/great-war-1914-1921

PRISONER of WAR DIARY on the Laughton.ca mirror site until that is moved

If there is a way to edit previous posts can someone let me know?

    Hi Richard,
Wow, you've done loads of work! And yes, I'll let you know when I have a definite publication date.

If you're logged in there is a little 'Edit' link at the bottom of your post, isn't there?
    Jamie.
