Hello, I have just found a letter or 2, from what appears to be my Great-uncle, in an old box. What is the best way to find out information on him. It looks as though he was in 'Manchester Regiment, '16th' Platoon, 'S' company and '16th Batt'. Any information is welcome.
Get onto the National Archives website. If 16th Battalion Manchester Regiment for WW1 has been digitised (about 20% have been so far) you are in luck. Its cheap to download the complete War Diary, about £3.
