    Dear All,

I am hoping someone can explain this to me. I have read an article, note this is UK, 2 March 1939 about several meetings in my local area to form groups with different types of vans/lorries. The groups were being formed as part of the Ministry of Transport Emergency Grouping Instructions. I was wondering if anyone could tell me, or point me to, information about this? It is obviously a preaction in the event that war broke out, but would like to know more about it.

    Regards,
    Nick

It was registering and grouping the road transport companies , so that it was used efficiently under a central and local management scheme , petrol and diesel would have to be been rationed , also the Government requisitioned lots of transport for the Armed Services , this was just before war was declared , so it seems they were getting their act together .
