I've read of agencies such as the Secret Service Bureau that was comprised of parties sympathetic to the Southern cause. What kinds of espionage were most successful and how did such spy networks operate?

  2. I don't remember much specific to the War of Northern Oppression, but I do know that espionage has played a part in almost every conflict since the beginning of time.

I find the whole idea of women spies from the South to be very entertaining. Because men thought they were 'just women', they completely overlooked them. Lots of female talent was wasted back in those days, but at least these gals had it goin on!
