The more the deniers try to deny the event, they only increase the interest.

Holocaust denial is alive and well on the internet and occasionally obtains press coverage via Irving and Renouf et al. who are always on hand to spin doctor lies and misinformation.

It is a really boring subject to be honest - so many times has it been proven to be worthless and so many times the same old lies are trundled out as if they are worth listening to , again.

If you visit Auschwitz / Birkenau it really is starved of cash had it been in the west it would have been invested in , as it stands it is not.

Worth visiting but the "organised tours" sold in Krakow and Prague by tourist outlets are very bad value for money , you will spend the bulk of your time in Auschwitz 1 and a minimal amount of time in Birkenau - confined mostly to the area at the bottom of the camp - you really need to get up to the far end to appreciate what the place actually achieved in terms of murder and theft.

Auschwitz is falling apart, without investment its lifespan is very limited. The difference when I was there this year compared to last is even visible!

Surely the government is not that stupid that it will not upkeep their tourism sites.

Those who do not want renovations must want the site to fall down.

You would expect this 65 years "after people", not with people!

Auschwitz should be preserved. This is the only surviving death camp of Nazi Germany that will tell the younger generation who tends to forget the lesson of the past about the cruelties of Hitler's Nazi Germany.
