I was going to make a thread on a ww1 vet but changed my mind, it is his 108th b-day sometime this week. I will change the thread's subject, to what was the best infantry weapon invented in the war.?
OK...for actually invented during the war, I'd plump for either the B.A.R. (1917), the No.36 grenade (1918) or possibly (due to it's longevity in use) the F1 grenade with the "Billiant" automatic fuze (1916). For innovation, I'd propose the French RSC Mle 1917 automatic rifle (1917) , but this may probably be overshadowed by the Fedorov Avtomat (1918) of Russia
