War graves in Gazan battleground

    Oh no, thats awful!

    My great-grandfather James William Scully is buried there.

    It's such a shame that neither side (or any side in any conflict for that matter) can look at these headstones and realise that the cost of their actions is far too high for anyone to pay!

    Theres a few places that have been decimated by the war Glen I'm afraid ... Basra is another thats tragic !

    with a bit of luck our troops will be able to assess the damage and maybe fix the headstones etc !

    Yes, I'm sure the headstones can be replaced, and the memorials re-constructed. The CWGC has all the details and maps so the place will hopefully soon look like it has always looked.

    Its just so tragic that almost a century on, the same piece of land is being fought for and fought on, and more and more lives are being lost.

    What a ridiculous species we are! Will we never learn?
