Gd'Day all just a quick note to let you know I'm still around, been very busy what with doing our bit setting up for the Spring Horse Racing season as well as Football (Oval ball games) finals parties and normal exhibitions and so on, a lot to catch up with. I spent most of computer time catching up with my mates on www.diggers.com/ now it's your turn.

Look forward to reading the posts and contributing some what. :hi:

    Thanks Spidge
I just set up marquees (posh word for bloody big tarpaulin tents) carpets and seating and the all the stuff like that mate, we do, a bit more as well, however we usually have been in and out before exhibitors/Events arrive. I wasn't their for too long as we do many different events (major and minor), exhibitions parties and others especially at the two exhibition centres in town.

I don't gamble and if i did i wouldn't bother with the Melbourne Cup all the odds are too short, so unless you place a cool mill you don't get much back unless a real long shot gets up. Mate I have never been into the casino and i only live a couple of K's away, been to the movie cinema their, but not the gambling floors.

Yet even i cannot miss the great Bart Cummings and his deeds, I reckon any horse he trains has a chance over the (i think) 2400 metres race.
The women on site 'possibly would love' this racing season as all women wear fancy hats (purposely made for spring racing) and some if not all spend big $$ on hats alone, let alone their clothing as well, and they also have a ladies day.

    Cheers

This the Melbourne Cup? Didn't realise it was that time of year. So 3200m equates to what in horse racing terms? A 2 miler? Nice. You'll have to let me know who wins at what odds.

And welcome back Cobber. As you'll see we've been pretty quiet due to the summer here in the northern hemisphere, already showing signs of it all picking up again. :D
