Dad and I went to the Cenotaph today. It was a lovely service, and Harry Patch was there too :) It was impossible to get to see him and Henry because of the barriers, and crowds of people. Everyone cheered when the three surviving WW1 vets came out, it was very emotional.

Here are some photos I took..........

I watched it on TV and it was very emotional, especially when Henry Allingham went to lay the wreath with the aid of the two RAF officers. He seemed very overcome, which is undertandable.

    Great pics SP

Kyt I just saw it on the ITV news. Unfortunately dad and I were the Big Ben end and the the end they came from. We couldn't see as something was in the way.

They all looked like they wanted to sleep, they must have been cold and tired.
Henry was very determined, it was very moving.

Annie that is the first time I have seen the Women of WW2 Memorial, it's a lovely memorial. I should have taken photo's of both sides.

    Hi Erik and welcome.

If you look at my Fields of Remembrance post, on page 12, you'll see I took a photo of the Canadian section.
