This excellent research for family historians, is maintained by Ancestry.co.uk in partnership with The National Archives. It provides access to a searchable database of pension records for approximately 2.5 million British soldiers who served from 1914 through to 1920. It includes medical history forms; disability claims; regimental conduct sheets and awards for non-commissioned officers and other ranks who were discharged from the Army and claimed disability pensions for service in WWI. Individual records contain information on the name; age occupation and physical condition of the individual. Access to the database requires free registration, payment is required to retrieve full records. Users should consult the website for details on copyright, technical information and the progress of data loading.
