I have just joined this Forum as I am currently conducting research into my Great Uncle, Pte S/34227 Henry Rice, 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade. Henry came from Homerton, London and was the son of Eliza Rice, my Great Grandmother.

I have been a medal collector for over 40 years, but have recently disposed of my collection, so have always been interested in Military History. Now my interest has switched recently to researching my family history, the identification of Henry Rice being Killed in Action in WW1 on 6 March 1918 has led me to this forum, where previous threads regarding the Rifle Brigade have been posted.

If anyone has access to the War diaries for the Battalion and could advise on their location and any information about activities on the 6 March 1918, or indeed on Henry Rice, I would be extremely grateful.

    Many thanks

    John
