I am looking for information on my grandfather have tried the ancesters ww1 list without success.He was John James Hunt born 1892 on his wedding certificate in December 1914, he puts his address as Blackdown barracks and he is a private in the 10th rifle brigade. In August 1915 on my fathers birth certifdicate he is listed as Private 10th rifle brigade (Dining car chef MR) Kensington. Is this any thing to do with the army?, of late I have wondered if this was his peace time occupation may be Midland Railway.The birth certificate is stamped on the back Winchester Barracks.
During 1917/18 he was servant to Col. C Henniker.
Although this is quite a lot that I know, it is also all that I know as he left home yeovil Somerset to look for work in 1924 and was never herad of again. Any held would be welcome.
