Do You Believe The Holocaust Happened?

Oh HORRORS! I'm so glad I just read over what I said yesterday! I hope it was clear that I mean "starting the topic" of saying the Holocaust didn't exist, and *not* the "topic" in this thread. "To start one" meant start a conspiracy, no a forum topic.

Sometimes writing words on paper or a computer screen can come out *so* wrong! Thirty lashes with a wet noodle for Kate!

I think no one can even dream of what the holocaust was unless those who lived it, people being treated life inferior beings of defective objects and condemned for extermination is something that is unthinkable to happen really, a living hell.

I can't see a way of claiming it didn't. It's a question of fact, and the documented facts are tremendous in number and compelling. People who imagine the Holocaust never happened are either delusional or anti-Semitic on a large scale. Admittedly, Israel as a state tends to lean on it as an excuse for whatever it chooses to do, but it doesn't discount the horror that happened.

Yes, no question that it happened and I am sure that this is something that will never happen again, the world has opened it's eyes regarding this sort of atrocities as we are able to defend ourselves better I think.

You say that, Peninha, but do we really know what is going on in North Korea currently? I know it's not a war zone and that it isn't a certain race, ethnicity or religion that they're imprisoning - we also don't know much about those labour camps. Not to mention the whole situation with the Palestine and Israel. There aren't any labour or concentration camps, but it's not a healthy relationship in its current state.

All I'm trying to convey is that we should overestimate humans. We are the evilest sons of b*tches on this planet after all and even though most of us have gotten wiser since previous mistakes, it's really hard to predict what future events filled with hatred will bring.

The Holocaust most definitely did happen. It was a horrible tragedy that happened, and it should not be forgotten. The things that are going on in the North Korean concentration camps are also very shocking. You would think that people would learn from the past, but North Korea seems to be repeating some of what the Nazis did during the Holocaust. It may not be as widespread and known as the Holocaust was, but horrible things are going on in the North Korean slave camps.

It was beyond tragedt SPW, it was beyond that, it was a never seen insanity from a man that had a crazy vision of the world, I suppose he assumed he was god or something like that.

Things like this generally aren't fully known or understood until after it's much too late to do something about it. I'm not fully up to speed on what's going on in North Korea, but there are so many "let's sit on our hands and play patty-cake and it will get better" pacifists squawking every time someone tries to do something where atrocities are taking place in the world that I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it would continue to worsen.

I'm not sure if we're supposed to post links to other websites not military-history related, but this is relevant to the conversation. Here is a link of a North Korean defector drawing what life was like in a concentration camp there, and somebody translated it to English. It's up there with the Nazi concentration camps when it comes to how horrible it is.

That's a pretty scary link there, those images and descriptions totally pictorial, it's hard to believe that human beings could do that to other human beings... :(

Yeah, I just think that it's important that people know that these things do still go on. You can even see the North Korean concentration camps on Google Maps, they have quite a few of them.

Sure you can claim that sun didnt come up yestyrday. No matter the light the scorching heat or burned skin. Jews and Arabs? Aint touchin that with 10feet pole. So spare me from Antisemite or Racist cards.

I have no idea what this means. I *think* you're saying that you are of the belief that the Holocaust happened whether or not someone claims it didn't? But the sun reference... and the Jews/Arab reference... you lost me.

And where did you see anyone making a racist statement? I'll try to answer this more fully if you can explain what most of it meant so I can follow.

Yeah I'm not sure what any of that meant either.

Well i was just saying that you can deny anything even if the evidence is overwhelming. Like denying the fact that sun came up even when theres quite obvious things like heat, light, and skin thats been too long in sun right? With this i refer to attempts to deny holocaust even when evidence is overwhelming.

Nobody did make a racist statement but these days it looks like your Antisemite if you critizise Israel. And your racist if you critizise Arabs.

Oooooh! Okay, I get you now. I'm sorry that I didn't before, Turo. Yes, there are certain people and groups who claim things and stick to it even with total evidence that they're wrong. You are 100% correct there. Maybe it's an arrogance thing of not wanting to admit they're wrong... no idea. Sometimes I honestly believe that it's brainwashing. Tell someone often enough that the grass isn't actually green and they'll start chanting that fact right along with their brainwashers/teachers.

You're also right about the name-calling. Jews get hammered, Muslims get hammered, Christians get hammered... I think it's because of the way most of society has become mean spirited. I don't understand it, but I think that's the problem. I've heard said that it could be attributed to the fact that people become bolder when they can hide behind their computer keys. I believe it!

So true. Being polite and civil doesnt cost anything. And patching your ego in internet conversations by verbally attacking everything that moves is so sad.

I can't believe there are people who don't believe the holocaust happened. There is real evidence and there are survivors.
It's sad a lot of people died, but saying giving the jews symphaty is wrong is bad.

North Korea is another dark spot in the map because it's a tiranny. Whenever there is war there is no humanity, just check the recent Ukrainian war...

The holocaust did happen, there is just no evidence to lead you to believe that the holocaust did not happen, i just don't understand how someone can deny the holocaust when it is so obvious that it happened. They probably can't explain where the millions of Jewish people during WWII went, and that just ends the argument there.
