Is there some kind of list for this medal at all ? how can you find out who was eligible for one ? and what was the difference ?

The Allied Subjects' Medal was a bravery medal issued to those people (not necessarily British) who had helped the Allied cause, by for example, assisting POWs to escape and avoid detection. Due to a disagreement between the British War and Foreign Offices, the medal was not introduced until November 1920, with additional awards made in 1921 and 1922.

The medal itself was either silver or bronze, and 33 millimetres in diameter. On the obverse side was the profile of King George V. The reverse side had a female Humanity offering a cup to a British soldier resting on the ground, against a profile of ruined buildings.

All the medals were issued unnamed and almost half of the total issued went to women.

134 silver were awarded and 574 in bronze...

The roll is in WO32/5571 at Kew.

On some medal sites it is listed ABOVE the MC...

    In a word...Yes!

I wonder if the owner of that site has found out to whom all those medals belonged?

Puts my paltry chest load to shame...

Just as an addenda...If you look carefully at the ribbon, you will see that from left to right the colours are those of Britain, Belgium and France.

56 silver and 247 bronze went to women.

The first posting says, "The Allied Subjects' Medal was a bravery medal issued to those people (not necessarily British) who had helped the Allied cause ...". In fact this medal was for people who were NOT British. "the same medal would be given to both Allies and neutrals. Claims would have to be admitted of certain persons who were technically or otherwise enemy subjects, especially in view of the extreme danger they ran.
As far as I am aware, only one medal was awarded to a person who was German (by marriage) and I now have that medal.
