I chatted to a couple of members offline about Dead Man's Pennies, and I've seen a number on sale on auction sites etc. These are a couple of food introductions to the subject: Military History Online - Dead Man's Penny WW1 Memorial Plaque & Scroll: The Dead Man's Penny
How do you show gratitude for the death of a young solider someone who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country ?
Theres a way of telling where each plaque is made and in what year ... which makes it all the more interesting to people who have them passed down in the family and who collect them !
Theres a thread on GWF .... I can't remember all the details ... I haven't been lucky enough to own one ! Dead Man's Penny ! - Great War Forum But this was the start of the gist of it ........ read on ... you'll find out about years .....
Now that is useful to know, we have rescued two? Know we definitely have one. Each is very word from polishing. Will have to get boxes for them.
