RCAF Bolingbroke Bomber: Restoration of IDA

    Saw this in the Toronto Sun yesterday and thought some of the air force enthusiasts might have an interest. I have never heard of this plane.

    There is a story of the IODE group here.

    The Hamilton Spectator also had a story about IDA and included a photograph.

    Nice one Richard. And the Bolingbroke was the name given to the Canadian built Bristol Blenheim IV

    Interesting story! here is details of another Canadian restoration! Who knows, if the British restoration goes well, there might be a three ship formation!

    That'd be great if they got three of the Bollingbrokes flying again. Maybe they could preform at airshows?

    I remember a Bolingbroke being for sale in Canada a few years ago and it was relatively complete as an airframe.

    The British "Blenheim" is actually a Bolingbroke!

    It was for sale for quite a while in Classic Wings and other mags from memory. Ended up under US$100k, IIRC. Almost within reach but then you'd have to restore it!
