    hi.first thanks for the warm greetings to this site.where to start.?
    now fred walton .was brought up with my grandfather when he married .
    elise walton 1919. her husband killed in action.fred was often called smith . till he signed up for the army 1937.then was told to use his correct name .
    walton.fred has sent me some photo .with little snippets on the back .
    photo one. fred walton and jock in cario march 1941.
    photo two .egypt 1941 .sam.jack .fred walton.
    photo three.fred walton leaning against the flagpole.LULWORTH recruit 1937.
    remember five shillings a week .the other nine shillings into credit.
    photo four. 525 squad LULWORTH COVE. 1937-38,
    fred allen .fred walton. hawkins stewart.tubby mytton. e roe. dick pitt.
    bogey knight.kirkbright.andy little . saunders beech. vernon riddle.and last.
    o symster.
    photo five , corporal fred walton missing middle east 1942.now fred tells me
    was captured on the longest day june 1942 six o.clock in the morning .with the barrel of a tank pointing at him .
    fred was moved three times .last time was to germany.have a smashing photo .fred sent me . i blew it a to large print.
    says ,english prisoners of war in leipzig.of to play football about thirty people in photo.
    sorry have not put photo on site but unsure how to do it .
    photo four is my main querry .do you see your name here ,?
    also have a tale of fred in the war . was in a book .was asked to recount
    war tales if any.one would like to read it .just say .and will post on site.
    hope i have not been too long winded.

    You will need to have a scanner, in order to save the pictures onto your computer.

    Then, if you reply in this thread, click on Go Advanced (when starting a new thread you always have the Advanced options).

    Scroll down and click on Manage Attachments. Then click on Browse, look for the file where the photo is on your computer, and select the photo. Then click on Upload, then ok. This should work unless the photo is too large (too many KBs); if so you will have to find a way of reducing it.

    Then when you post your reply. the picture will be an attachment.

    In August 1943 Fred was in P.G. 70.
    His Camp in Germany was 4G Oschatz and his P.O.W. No. was 253744.

    Just a few more Details.

    PG 70 was Monturano in the Military District 3300. The Camp Commandant was Col. Enrico Papa.
